Manchester United is increasing personal security around Vice President Ed Woodward before the deadline.
the Mirror says security around Woodward will tighten around the day of the transfer deadline, in fear that the Manchester United chief executive will again be a target for irate fans.
A mob of 20 thugs sprayed paint at Woodward’s Cheshire home and threw flares and a smoke bomb in an attack on his property at the end of the last window in January.
The so-called fans were said to have been angered by the lack of transfer activity, despite United was close to sealing a £ 47 million deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes at the time.
Now, with United struggling to match the spending of some of their top six rivals in the current window, there has been mounting anger again from fans who are frustrated that they failed to achieve the number 1 transfer goal, Jadon Sancho.
It is understood that since the January attack, the level of security at Woodward’s home in Cheshire has increased.
And it is believed that it will be in full force for the next few days and the window will close on Monday.
