A man was caught on video using his phone while driving on the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) on Tuesday (October 27).

Stomper, who recorded video of the incident at 9:23 p.m., was surprised that someone was driving and using their phone at the same time.

In the video, the man can be seen using both hands to type on his phone while driving.

“This driver used his phone continuously for more than ten minutes while on the road,” Stomper said.

“I was a passenger in my friend’s car and my friend honked his horn to warn him, but the driver ignored us.

“After that, when my friend drove next to him, we saw that he started wearing a seat belt.

“These types of people should not drive on the road. They are endangering the lives of other road users.”

Under the Road Traffic Law, a driver of a vehicle who holds a mobile communication device in his hand and operates any of its communication or other functions while the vehicle is in motion on a road or in a public place is guilty of a crime and is subject to sentence to a fine not to exceed $ 1,000 or to imprisonment for a period not to exceed six months or both.
