SINGAPORE: A 34-year-old man will be charged on Wednesday (September 2) with insulting a traffic police officer after being reminded to pay his outstanding fines.
He also sent her up-skirt photos of unknown people, police said in a press release Wednesday.
On May 29, the traffic police officer used a messaging platform to remind the man “to make timely payment of outstanding fines related to two traffic offenses.”
“The man allegedly had not answered the previous phone call (from the officer),” police said. “In response to his text messages, the man allegedly made insulting comments and sent pictures of strangers under their skirts.”
The incident was reported to the police and he was arrested on June 3.
If you are found guilty of making an insulting communication towards a public servant in connection with the performance of your duties, you can be fined up to S $ 5,000 and / or imprisoned for up to 12 months.
The Police added that it will not tolerate any act of abuse against public servants who are performing their duties.
