Man Filmed Cutting Himself In Parking Of Arrested Choa Chu Kang, Taken To Hospital, Singapore News

A violent outburst by a young man in a parking lot led to his arrest on Tuesday (September 29).

In video clips that circulated on Facebook the same day, agitated youth screamed “Why?” before cutting her arm off with a gun at Block 409 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3. A woman screamed as she did so.

Another man was seen trying to defend himself against the young man with a hoe, but soon dropped it after seeing the young man hurt himself and attempted to snatch the gun from him.

At least two other passersby rushed over to the couple to render assistance.

Meanwhile, another video clip showed a young woman, who appeared to have blood on her face, approaching a passerby for help.

According to CNA, an off-duty police officer in the vicinity helped defuse the situation.

Police told AsiaOne that they arrested a 23-year-old man after they were alerted to a case of willfully causing harm with a dangerous weapon. He was later taken to Ng Teng Fong Hospital.

A 27-year-old woman was consciously transferred to the National University Hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
