Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned that Manchester City could “run away” with the Premier League title this season.
Pep Guardiola’s team sits at the top of the table after winning 10 of their previous 12 league games.

City are the ninth different team to lead the league this season, but Klopp believes they have reached their form at the right time.
When asked at a press conference if this season could produce the most exciting title race, Klopp replied: “[It] It could be, but City could run away now because they are in a good position, playing good football again, but I don’t know.
“What we have seen is that it is a difficult season for all the teams, maybe except West Ham and Leicester, who also look pretty good.
“There are a lot of teams that look good, but we’ve all had our ups and downs during the season for different reasons.
“For sure it is a year in which you have to be lucky with injuries to be really aware of things, more than in other years because of the intensity and the number of games in a specific period. But I imagine that watching from the Outside is really exciting, especially for neutrals. “
Liverpool have suffered several injuries on defense this season and Klopp confirmed that Joe Gomez is unlikely to make a comeback this season, while Fabinho could return for the clash against City at Anfield on 7 February.
Jordan Henderson has been used as a central defender for most of the season and Klopp praised the club captain for his contributions.
When asked if Henderson could become a defender during the later stages of his career, Klopp replied: “We must not forget that Hendo is actually an eighth.
“It makes him even more special. He’s a No. 8 turned from a No. 6 into a No. 4. He can play all these positions.
“The first thing he says that is how smart Hendo is in soccer. So his physical abilities are obvious, but how smart he is in soccer because it’s a completely different position, especially a No. 8.”
“I wish him a long career as well and wish he had a word in the position where he will end his career, but the middle half is one of the positions he can play. Fortunately for us, he can play that and it was a good game. [at Tottenham].
“What makes him so exciting is that his soccer skills make him very influential in our formation, which helps as he had a great turnout in the first goal.”
