Malaysia on Saturday (November 7) imposed a conditional movement control order (MCO) in all states of Peninsular Malaysia except Kelantan, Perlis and Pahang from November 9 to December 6, amid a surge in the cases of Covid-19.

This means that the current conditional MCO in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Sabah, which is supposed to end on November 9, will also be extended.

Here’s a look at the latest restrictions in the country.

1. Interdistrict and interstate travel is not allowed under the conditional MCO, with the exception of emergencies. Those who have to travel to another district for work must present letters of authorization obtained from their employers.

2. Schools in the affected areas will remain closed. This includes kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, private schools and teacher training institutes registered with the ministry.

3. Restaurants, stores, food stalls, roadside stands, food courts, street vending centers, miscellaneous stores and convenience stores can only operate from 6 am to 10 pm every day.

4. Only four customers per table are allowed when dining in restaurants.

5. Only two people per household can leave the house at a time to buy essential items.

6. Individual, non-contact and outdoor sports are allowed, as well as electronic sports with no more than 10 participants. But swimming, contact sports and competitions are not allowed. The entertainment points are also not authorized to operate.
