‘Magical Bale will have his version of Real Madrid history’: Ramos says the Welsh outcast gave ‘a lot’ to the Whites

Gareth Bale is a “magical” talent who offered “a lot” to Real Madrid and will want to tell his version of events after being forced to return to Tottenham, says Juande Ramos.

The Wales international has returned to North London on a one-season loan deal.

However, his intention was to fulfill his contract until 2022 at the Santiago Bernabéu when things were going well in Spain. However, a dream change turned into a nightmare, with the 31-year-old frozen amid questions about his form, fitness and commitment.

Spurs have embraced a familiar face with open arms, despite seeing him join their ranks as he takes a hit, and are confident that he can thrive again on the Premier League stage.

Former Tottenham and Madrid boss Ramos, who worked with Bale for a year in England, believes such a proven player can rediscover his spark, while thinking that he will eventually reveal what really happened in Madrid.

“Inside Madrid they will know the problems he could have had with Zidane, but I’m sure he has his own version of the story.”

Bale is not the only player who has changed his life in Madrid for that reason at Spurs, with left-back Sergio Reguilón, with a high rating, following the same transfer path.

The 23-year-old is seen as having a lot of potential, but Ramos admits that it will always be difficult for Real to justify his retention given the options they already have at their disposal.

“For now it is a very populated position with [Ferland] Mendy and Marcelo, and if they have made the decision to let Sergio go, it is because they received a good amount of money for him ”, added Ramos.

“Reguilón had fewer chances of minutes with Real Madrid than the other two and I think he will adapt well to Spurs. He is a player with a lot of potential ”.
