Liverpool ‘ready to pay £ 40m transfer fee’ for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr

Liverpool are reportedly willing to pay Watford’s £ 40m sale price for Ismaila Sarr.

The 22-year-old has been on the Reds ‘radar since scoring two goals in the Hornets’ surprising 3-0 win in February.

Liverpool need a back-up for their fearsome three forwards, and Sarr is a perfect fit, as he can play on either wing or as a center forward.

But Watford has made it clear that he wants £ 40 million for the Senegalese international, who scored six goals for them last season.

And Liverpool are now poised to meet that demand, according to The Sun.

Ismaila Sarr scored twice to help end Liverpool’s unbeaten Premier League run in February

The post reports that Sarr’s versatility in attack has led the Reds to make him their top target ahead of Wolves winger Adama Traore.

Furthermore, there is a belief that Sarr would be prepared to wait for his chance at Liverpool’s star-studded squad, while Traore might want more playing time.

The Sun also claims that a trade from Anfield for Sarr would lead the Reds to consider selling Rhian Brewster rather than lending him.

Brewster missed a penalty in Liverpool’s penalty shootout loss to Arsenal in Saturday’s Community Shield clash at Wembley.

Subsequently, boss Jurgen Klopp defended the 20-year-old, describing him as “a true finisher”.

Newcastle reportedly asked Liverpool about the forward’s loan, while Sheffield United and Crystal Palace are also interested.

Meanwhile, Sarr recently expressed his admiration for the Reds, saying Echoes in his homeland: “Liverpool are a great team, everyone would love to play there.

“They won the Premier League this year and the Champions League last year.

“But there are also great teams in the English league.
