Liverpool have a backup option in case their bid to sign Ozan Kabak fails today, while Celtic are trying to negotiate a lucrative exit for Olivier Ntcham, all in the Euro papers.
OBJECTIVE OF LIVERPOOL
Liverpool have an alternate goal in mind if they fail on a play for Ozan Kabak today.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says the Premier League champions have “another name” on the list if they fail to get a move for Kabak ratified.
Sky in germany They report that Liverpool are in talks with Schalke for a loan deal for Kabak. However, the German team wants a replacement before the 5pm deadline.
Bild says Liverpool have a “great interest” in Kabak and is talking about a loan with a purchase option of 30 million euros.
However, Romano says they have a plan by not Sven Botman or Duje Ćaleta-Car.
That man could be Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba.
Patrick Berger, reporter for Sport 1, says Tapsoba is also a target for Michael Edwards in Liverpool. However, the timeline is unclear and says, through Sports witness, that Liverpool withdrew from the race when their asking price was told.
Bayer wanted € 50 million for the 21-year-old, according to Berger, and that made Liverpool look elsewhere. They claim the Reds have turned to Kabak, and Edwards and company are hard at work on a deal before the 5:00 pm cutoff in Germany.
Still, a deal with Bayer over Tapsoba is not out of the question as Klopp looks for some central defensive coverage.
Liverpool are in talks with Ozan Kabak’s agents: Schalke would sell him only on loan with the obligation to buy [total value around €30m]. But #LFC They also have another name on their roster if Schalke can’t find a replacement. 🔴
Without Caleta-Car, without Botman. ⏳ #Deadline
