SINGAPORE: Less humid weather and several hot afternoons are expected in the second half of December, the Singapore Meteorological Service (MSS) said in a press release on Tuesday (December 15).

Short-lived stormy rains are expected over parts of the island in the afternoon most days, and occasionally continue into the evening.

A brief strengthening of the north winds can be expected over the next fortnight, which could bring windy conditions with occasional rain in a day or two.

“Overall, December 2020 rainfall is expected to be below average over most of the island,” MSS said.

The daily temperature is forecast to range from 24 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius on most days for the next two weeks, and can reach 34 degrees Celsius on some afternoons when there is little or no rain.

In the first half of December, the highest daily maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Paya Lebar on December 8, while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Sembawang on December 11. .

Half of Singapore reported below-average rainfall in the first two weeks of the month.

The highest anomaly of 56% below-average rainfall was recorded at Admiralty, while Pasir Ris recorded 55% above-average rainfall.
