Frank Lampard says that Chelsea’s ‘full’ performance in their win over Burnley was the latest sign that the club is moving in a positive direction.

Blues run 3-0 winners at Turf Moor , with Hakim Ziyech scoring his first Premier League goal.

He extends his undefeated streak in all competitions to six games, while it was also his fourth consecutive clean sheet.

The London side have also climbed to fourth place in the Premier League with 12 points from seven games.

Talking after the game, a delighted Lampard he was willing to praise his team for the progress they have made in the early stages of the current campaign.

“It was a very complete performance on our part. It’s a difficult place to come, ”Lampard told the BBC.

“They make it very difficult for the teams and they have had no luck in the games. We control massive parts of the game so I’m very happy.

“I was always aware at the beginning of the season that it was not going to be easy. He asked us a lot to fly off the blocks, but performances like this show that we are doing something positive.

“We need to lower our heads and keep working hard.”

Pulisic injury concerns minimized

Lampard also eased fears about an injury layoff for Christian pulisic after the American played no role against the Clarets.

Pulisic was named in the starting eleven but was replaced by Timo Werner due to an injury sustained in the warm-up.

When asked about an update on his condition, Lampard seemed confident that the attacker wouldn’t be out for long.

“He felt something in his hamstring,” he added. “We try to handle it in the middle of the week, but we’ll see what happens in the next 24 hours.

“We are talking of little importance, nothing serious.”

Pulisic suffered a torn hamstring in Chelsea’s FA Cup final loss to Arsenal in August, an injury from which he only returned earlier this month.
