Kyrgios says to his bitter rival Nadal: ‘Let’s do Insta’

PARIS: Rebel Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios invited Rafael Nadal to participate in a cozy video chat on Sunday (May 3) despite their stormy relationship on the court.

As the coronavirus has put the tennis season into hibernation until July 13 at the earliest, a large number of players have recently turned to social media for face-to-face exchanges.

So on Sunday, after the BBC had asked for suggestions about the most wanted moments, Kyrgios responded quickly.

“Rafa lets Instagram live together. I’m disappointed. Rafael Nadal let’s do it,” wrote the Australian on Instagram.

Kyrgios and Nadal have suffered a bitter relationship on the court.

Last year, the 19-time Grand Slam winner accused the Australian of “disrespect” after Kyrgios won a stormy match in Mexico.

Kyrgios responded stating that number two in the Spanish world was “super salty”.

They met again at Wimbledon last summer when Nadal won, but was enraged after the Australian seemed to throw a ball directly at him.
