Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has started raising concerns with his closest confidants about an “institutional” lack of support for his new club, according to a report.
Koeman took office in August with Barça in one of their greatest periods of uncertainty. The Spanish giants had just lost 8-2 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, leaving Lionel Messi’s future uncertain.
Messi then announced his intention to leave, before retracting his desire to avoid a complicated legal battle.
Since then, Koeman has worked to reduce Barcelona’s £ 510 million annual wage bill. This has proven to be an important task as he seeks to bring a new dynamic to his team.
According to BrandHowever, Koeman is already struggling to get comfortable in the role of his dreams.
The source says the 57-year-old “is beginning to show mistrust” due to the situation he is in.
He feels that the Barcelona board has left him in an “uncomfortable” position with respect to his squad and worries that President Josep Maria Bartomeu will leave him “defenseless”.
Bartomeu has proven to be a controversial figure in Barcelona’s recent history. In fact, his off-field clashes with Messi were a key factor in the Argentine’s decision to leave.
Koeman is also concerned about how his arrival at such a juncture in club history will affect his players.

However, the Dutchman has successfully fired several players from his team. Nelson Semedo has moved to Wolves, with Ivan Rakitic at Sevilla.
What’s more, in one of the most outstanding outings, Luis Suárez has moved to Atlético de Madrid, LaLiga rival.
This last movement has not sat well with Messi, who has criticized his club for the treatment they gave the Uruguayan.
In terms of potential revenue, Lyon forward Memphis Depay remains Koeman’s main target.
The Dutch couple enjoyed a successful relationship working together on the Dutch national team.
