Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Mo Salah’s mood amid talks about the tension between Liverpool and the Egypt striker.
The Reds star is having another sensational season at Anfield. An instinctive header from close range and a ‘worldie’ from outside the area helped Liverpool crushes Crystal Palace 7-0 at the weekend.
That double took him to the top of the Premier League scorers table with 13 goals.
Salah has scored in nine of his last 12 games for Liverpool. And, away from home, there are nine in their last nine games in all competitions.
With figures like this, the European elite remains on alert. And rumors started to fly over the weekend when he gave a rare sit-down interview with Spanish outlet AS.
Salah stated that he was “Very disappointed” for not having received the captaincy by Jurgen Klopp in the absence of Jordan Henderson and James Milner when the Reds played FC Midtjylland.
The 28-year-old was passed over in favor of Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Champions League clash in Denmark.
Liverpool has since been gave salah a new deal when your contract expires in 2023.
And speaking before the Dec. 27 crash with West Brom, Klopp revealed that Salah is more than happy in Merseyside.
Said, “We never spoke [about contracts]. Mo is in a good mood and the timing, the form and that is the most important.
“You would have seen him laugh a lot [today]. The rest is good for you to write down, but internally, nothing really [to say].
“It is in a good moment and I hope it continues like this. Much more important we move on. Everyone knows that this is the most difficult period of the season. “

Thiago missing for the WBA clash
Looking at the team news before the game, Klopp revealed that Thiago will not take any risks.
He added: “Thiago took the first steps towards team training. It’s not full yet. After a long time, we can’t rush.
“Other guys are closer, Shaq trained well. Milly, your full session day. We still have two more days of training before making a decision. “
The Reds top the list this Christmas, but Klopp knows there is a long road ahead for him.
Speaking about leading the way in the Premier League, he added: “Obviously it means you are not automatically champion in May if you lead at Christmas, otherwise we would have been champions sooner.
“It’s the best position you can be in right now, but that’s it. We know how difficult it is. It’s nice, nothing more. “
