Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool were “on fire” in their 3-0 win over Leicester, but a new injury has added to their problems.

Liverpool set a new club record for a series of games without a loss at home in the league. They are now unbeaten in 64 straight Premier League games at Anfield.

They did so thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino after Jonny Evans got into his own goal.

Thus, it was a convincing win for the reigning champions, who moved to the joint top with Tottenham as a result.

Klopp even thought they could have won by a greater margin, with Firmino missing a few chances before he finally scored his goal, for example.

“We deserved it,” Klopp said. Sky sports. “The guys played an amazing game against a superior, superior, superior opponent.

“I don’t take this kind of thing for granted. The boys were on fire when it came to soccer.

“The front line defended very well. We should have scored more goals.

“I like the general performance, the result and the clean sheet. We defended incredibly well.

“The front row didn’t play together very often, but how they did it today wasn’t bad.”

Klopp impressed with reaction to injuries

Liverpool entered the game without many of its key players, especially on defense. The bench had a very youthful feel as the Reds tried to navigate the tie with a frazzled team.

They did so successfully, but received another injury blow when Naby Keita had to leave in the second half.

Klopp admits that it further complicates the situation for his side, but insists that any youngster he calls is good enough to cover.

Added to Match of the day: “That’s what we expect from ourselves, the injuries were a massive shock at the time but the guys have to offer solutions. We have middle halves, they are very young. They have no experience, you saw the bench tonight.

“It is a complicated situation and when Naby (Keita) leaves with a muscle injury, you know that the problems will not be minor.

“The boys know that when they are allowed to train with us they have the quality to do it, we do not give tickets to train, you have to qualify with talent and aptitude. It is a difficult school, there are many steps to go.

“We have to make sure we recover, but Naby’s injury didn’t help at all.”

Overall though, you might be more than happy with your day job, making it difficult for you to pick a favorite look.

“We scored three goals and we didn’t concede one, we defended exceptionally well, we controlled the game.

“There were a lot of good things, I can’t pick one that pleased me more, maybe James Milner’s performance as a right back. He played an exceptional game, first there and then in the midfield ”.
