TOKYO: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed that his country would bear the cost of postponing the Olympics – estimated at around $ 3 billion (£ 2.41 billion) – in line with the existing contract, the Kyodo news agency, citing the International Olympic Committee. .

Kyodo said the Swiss-based IOC made the disclosure on Monday.
