SINGAPORE: A man who was turned on by his sisters-in-law hid a camera in a clock in the kitchen bathroom, recording videos of his three sisters-in-law, as well as his mother-in-law and then-wife. .
On one count of insulting the modesty of one woman and a second count of insulting the modesty of the five women under consideration, the 32-year-old was jailed for six weeks on Wednesday (January 6).

The court heard that the man lived in an apartment with the five women, including his wife, who has since divorced him.
“Investigations revealed that the defendant was awakened by his sisters-in-law who were occasionally walking without a bra in the comfort of their own home,” the prosecutor said.
In 2015, the criminal hid a camera in a watch so that he could record videos of his unsuspecting sisters-in-law showering and using the bathroom.
The man’s wife discovered the hidden camera on a date not specified in court documents and confronted him.
The hidden camera and the memory card that accompanied it were discarded, but investigations could not confirm whether it was the defendant, his wife or both who had done this.
The crimes did not go to court at the time, but the man relapsed in August 2017. While his 32-year-old sister-in-law was on her cell phone at home, he took 18 photos of the side of his chest through his armhole. of his shirt.
Then he saved the photos in a secret folder on a USB stick so he could review them. Later, his wife discovered the photos on his USB stick and confronted him about it.
He asked her to delete the photos, but she refused to do so. He told his sister about the photos on a date not specified in court documents.
Her sister filed a police report in June 2019, saying the assailant had taken photos of her breasts in 2017 and filmed her family members showering and relieving themselves in the bathroom in 2015.
Police arrested the offender and raided his home, confiscating his laptop, phones and USB stick.
Assistant District Attorney Phoebe Tan asked for eight weeks in jail, saying that the offender had not only taken photos of the victim, but had gone a step further by keeping them in a secret folder for “future and repeated reproductions.”
The crimes also occurred in a place where victims expected to feel safe. They went without a bra in their own home because they felt safe to do so, the prosecutor said.
There was a breach of trust and persistence in his conduct, he added.
For insulting a woman’s modesty, the man could have been imprisoned for up to a year, fined, or both.
