Jadon Sancho has been told that playing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offers no guarantee that his game will improve further, as the Manchester United boss has little record of developing the game’s best young stars.

“He is clearly trying to develop a young team, so that will help, but in terms of person-to-person management and development of someone like Sancho, he is a total stranger.” We have yet to see any evidence that it can take a player to the next level.
“First of all, he hasn’t been with United long enough to know that, but also because in his previous jobs he hasn’t had players like that at his disposal.” We’ve seen it with Pep, and we’ve seen it with Jurgen Klopp, and the best managers are the ones who can take a player to that new level and improve it. Ole isn’t in it yet, doesn’t mean he can’t do it, but we haven’t had that proof yet.
“To use myself as an example, when I went to Inter Milan, I became a much better player with Roy Hodgson. It really took my game to the next level, I felt fitter, stronger, my consciousness increased tenfold. That, plus the change in culture and experience I had.
“What I’m saying is that Sancho needs to consider all of those factors, culture, environment, team, and ultimately the manager.”
Ince feels Jadon Sancho is worth a hefty fee
Former Ince teammate Gary Neville warned the Red Devils that Sancho may not be at the level he is expected to be.But Ince admits he can fully understand why the Solskjaer side is looking to invest large sums, and possibly a record club fee, to catch the attacker.
“It’s worth breaking the bank,” continued the 52-year-old, who played more than 200 times for United.
“He’s still young, only 20, but just as established. Obviously he’s incredibly talented, and while the club will go into a bidding war if they want to buy it, if they have a chance they are stupid not to.
“The fans would be right to be disappointed if they thought United had the opportunity to have Sancho, and the club did not fight for him.”
United’s hopes of signing Sancho were delivered earlier this week when it was claimed Borussia Dortmund had moved to sign a talented Barcelona star as his replacementAlthough the LaLiga side will insist on a buyback clause in any deal.
