Your iPhone is about to get an update, but it’s a very small one that will fix a variety of bugs that those with iOS 14.2 software may have suffered since early November.
iOS 14.2.1 is rolling out to iPhones now, you may even have downloaded it already, and it focuses your attention on bug fixes rather than bringing new features to your phone.
What does the new update fix? The biggest change is to fix an issue on the iPhone 12 mini that could sometimes cause the lock screen to stop responding. This is not an issue that TechRadar encountered with that specific phone, but it seems to be common enough that Apple has issued a fix.
Other tweaks address an issue that meant MMS messages were not being received on certain devices, although it is unclear how you would know if this issue affected you.
It also fixes some sound quality issues that some encountered when using connected hearing devices.
This is not the most exciting update and it does not bring new and innovative features to your iPhone, but you do need to download and install it to make sure your iPhone is up to date with the latest secure software.
If you have the iOS 14 software, you will be able to download iOS 14.2.1 on your iPhone, and it is available on any company device from the iPhone 6S.
IOS 14.3 is likely to arrive later this year or early 2021, and is probably set to bring ProRAW mode to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max if the latest developer beta is to be believed.
