The spirited devotion of a man and the defense of a woman involved in a gruesome murder has earned the derogatory label of being a simpleton.
The woman in question is Natalie Siow, 24, who became famous on the internet and built a fan base after it was discovered that she had played a role in the Orchard Towers murder case in July last year.
Originally facing one murder charge along with six others, his charges were downgraded after he pleaded guilty to willfully causing harm with common intent and associating with a person possessing an offensive weapon. The armed fight between his group and Satheesh Noel Gobidass, 31, left the latter dead with a stab in the neck.
Since then, Siow has been sentenced to five months in jail. Despite the role she played in the murder, she has become something of an influencer after some people fell in love with her. On her Instagram account, Siow now has more than 11,000 followers and dozens of posts endorsing various products.

Since then, one of Siow’s many followers has explained in a Facebook post on October 11 why he believes in her redemption.
“People make mistakes, and if you follow the news, she was not charged with murder, with her charge greatly reduced along with several others,” he wrote.
“Why should others be denied a good future for a small mistake during a hasty session?”
The man’s post went viral, but not for the reasons he would like. Hundreds of comments were left on his Facebook page, stating that he was, in internet parlance, a plain.
As The New York Times explained in extensive label context, the word is used to describe people, often men, who throw money or attention at women in a failed attempt to gain their affection and attention.
Urban Dictionary has a simpler definition: a man who is too submissive in a way that induces shame on a woman for his favor, but will never get anything out of it.
The shame is real, as seen in the comment section of the Facebook post. Simp is a recurring theme.
Others tried to argue against the hot opinion of the man.
Meanwhile, the most recent outcome of the ongoing case saw one of the seven people linked to the Orchard Towers murder given a conditional warning on Thursday (October 15).
