‘I saw blood all the way’

A 57-year-old cyclist was rushed to the hospital after a car accident along Yishun Avenue 1 toward Seletar West Link on Tuesday (December 29).

In response to an inquiry from Stomp, police said they were alerted to the accident at 8.34 a.m.

“A 57-year-old cyclist was conscious when he was transferred to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital,” police added.

Stomper Jerome He said he was walking down the road when he saw the scene of the accident.

In the photos, a man in a pink shirt can be seen taking photos of a Mercedes car while a man in a white shirt appears to be reaching for something inside the car.

A police officer can also be seen at the scene near the bloodstained ground.

“I saw the scene of the accident around 9:30 am and was shocked because it looked bad,” Jerome said.

“There was blood all over the road, right in front of the Mercedes. But there was no one lying there when I passed. So I think the ambulance came and went.

“This traffic accident actually seems quite serious because there was a lot of blood. Also, there was an accident very close to this place just a couple of months ago. It is very scary.”

Police investigations are ongoing.
