One or two mornings will also see widespread stormy showers with gusty winds due to passing Sumatra storms.
The MSS said total precipitation in the first half of September is forecast to be above average over most of the island.
The hot and humid weather is a continuation of the weather patterns in the second half of August, which saw more rain falling over Singapore than the first half of the month.
The highest daily temperature of 35.4 degrees C was recorded at the Admiralty on National Day, August 9.
There were also several nights that were warm with temperatures above 28 degrees C, particularly in the coastal areas of the south, east and west of the island.
In the Changi weather station, the monthly average temperature for August was 28.3 degrees C, 0.4 degrees C higher than the long-term average for the month.
