Police investigations are ongoing after bones believed to be from a human were found on Monday (November 9) under a bridge along Kallang Bahru, a spokesman said.

Preliminary investigations do not suspect foul play.

The remains were discovered by several migrant workers who were building a temporary walkway near the bridge, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

The first worker to find the bones allegedly sensed something was wrong.

When other workers stumbled upon more bones scattered around the area and realized that the pieces resembled parts of a human body, they were alarmed and alerted the police.

Some of the workers even shouted loudly that “someone died,” a witness told the Chinese newspaper.

At least four police cars and more than 10 officers were on the scene that night, another witness said.

Police were seen conducting investigations up to 300 meters upstream from where the remains were discovered, as well as on the river bank.

A crime scene investigation vehicle was also seen at the scene yesterday (November 10).
