A hearse veered from the lanes and collided with a ComfortDelGro taxi on Mandai Road toward Upper Thomson Road on Friday (November 13).

Stompers Serena Y Watson shared photos of the accident that occurred at 10.45 am.

In the photos, the back of the taxi appears to be wrecked.

A paramedic can also be seen treating a woman in the back seat of the taxi.

“This is very sad. The deceased should be resting in peace, but this accident happened,” Serena shared.

In response to a query from Stomp, Ms Tammy Tan, group corporate communications director for ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, said: “Our taxi was traveling straight on Mandai Road when the hearse, traveling down the lane in the opposite direction, he veered into our taxi lane and hit his hood. “

Ms. Tan added that a van behind the taxi failed to stop in time and was rear-ended in the taxi.

“Our taxi driver’s priority was the passenger on board and he called the police and the ambulance after seeing how she was doing,” Tan said.

“The passenger felt bad and was treated by paramedics on the spot, but he was not taken to the hospital. Our taxi driver, on the other hand, has also seen the doctor and is on medical leave.

“We will help both the passenger and the taxi driver to the best of our ability. We will also assist the police in their investigations.”
