SINGAPORE – A man who received a WhatsApp message from a female police officer about his traffic violations responded by sending him two photos under the skirt of an unidentified woman.

In his message, Muhamad Idris Kairudin also said: “And what if you are a traffic policeman.”

The 34-year-old Singaporean was sentenced on Wednesday (September 30) to a $ 3,000 fine after pleading guilty to one count of stalking.

Police said in an earlier statement that the inspector had contacted Idris on May 29 to ask him to “make timely payment” of outstanding fines for two traffic violations.

The court documents did not reveal the nature of his traffic offenses.

After receiving the message, Idris replied with the lewd message shortly after midnight.

The officer filed a report at the Sengkang Neighborhood Police Center around 4 p.m. on June 3, stating that Idris had sent him insulting messages via WhatsApp.

He was arrested about four and a half hours later in the 670A block of 65 Jurong West Street.

Agents also confiscated his mobile phone, the court heard.

In a statement, the police said they will not tolerate any act of abuse against public servants who are performing their duties.

“Violators will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law,” the police added.

For harassment, Idris could have been jailed for up to a year and fined up to $ 5,000.
