‘Getting in shape for Wonder Woman was difficult’

Kristen Wiig was excited to prepare for her role as Wonder Woman, but found the process difficult.

The funny woman plays Barbara Minerva / Cheetah in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, which will be released in October.

The role was a dream come true for Kristen, who always wanted to play a super-powered character, and she took up training, which began before flying to London for the eight-month shoot.

“I was excited to get in shape, but it was really difficult and there were no days off,” she reminded InStyle. “My schedule was not like Gal (Gadot) in any way, because she was there all day every day. But I had stunt training, and when they showed me previews of what I had to do, I would say, ‘Are you crazy?’ In the end I felt strong and had a lot of energy. It felt good, it wasn’t about getting skinny or muscular. But I went through so much Epsom salt. And wine.”

The 47-year-old also loved the costume process for the Patty Jenkins-directed film.

In the original comics, Cheetah is a human / cheetah hybrid, and Kristen promises her costume will not disappoint.

“It is the biggest movie I have ever made. And the wardrobe was on a completely different level. There were so many tests and then rehearsals with the clothes on, ”she shared. “No, we were not allowed to take pictures. This was confinement. They have it somewhere and you will see it. But there are different evolutions in my character. I’ll leave you with that. “
