Gary Neville has dominated the race for the Premier League title and named the team he believes is best equipped to challenge Liverpool for glory.
Tottenham enters the last round of matches at the top of the table and has been tipped our predictions to claim another victory.
But while Neville says they are in the mix, he is not the team that Neville believes will emerge as Liverpool’s strongest rivals.
Indeed, Neville believes the Reds could claim successive Premier League titles. However, he also claims that Chelsea have great potential this season. He also acknowledges that eliminating Manchester United from the Champions League could work in his favor.
“I have said before that I think Liverpool will win this league at a canter if Virgil van Dijk was fit. Nobody can get close to them, “Neville said in the Gary Neville Podcast.
“I still think they win this league. But there are some little things that go against them that they haven’t done in recent years.
“And the same thing happens with City and that makes it interesting. There are only a couple of teams, Chelsea right now, Tottenham who just look at them and think: ‘They are not good and we are good here. We are starting to take shape and spirit and we are getting closer to them. ‘
“And the fact that they are approaching them and they are not doing well is giving them confidence, even Man Utd.
“I think the Man Utd players will be sitting there thinking that if we can start playing the way we could, then even we might have a silly enough opportunity as it sounds.
“I don’t think they are going to win the league, but that’s what he’s doing to us this season. The first two have set a bar that I have never seen before, none of us have seen before in the last few seasons. But now we are seeing something that is more normal. “

Chelsea’s chances spoke
Chelsea finished fourth under Frank Lampard last season, but then invested heavily over the summer. His £ 250 million payout saw several big-name players sign, with Timo Werner and Edouard Mendy improving their side.
And Neville admits that Chelsea are highly contested this season, despite Lampard minimizing his chances.
Neville added: “The more I watch Chelsea week after week, the more it impresses me. That Chelsea performance last week [vs Spurs] went up in my estimate.
“Having seen what Tottenham gave Manchester City and Arsenal, it was a very measured and smart performance from Chelsea.”
Neville added: “What’s most impressive is that they are an adaptable team. They are a team that is taking on what Frank Lampard wants them to do.
“They are impressing me and, for me, they have a real opportunity. I think Chelsea have a better chance of winning the league than Spurs. They have N’Golo Kante, Thiago Silva and players who could take them there.
“The club always wins trophies with Roman Abramovich, there is something there. They have good and talented players and they also play the ugly side of the game. They are a real threat. “
