Fortnite has been busy tweaking the game to make it more social than competitive in some ways. One of the social things Fortnite has been doing is hosting concerts that fans can come and listen to. These concerts have been a success for Epic Games so far. A surprise DJ Diplo concert happened last night.

Last week, Fortnite hosted a Travis Scott concert called Astronomical That saw the game break participant records with up to 27.7 million unique players taking part live in all five events for the Travis Scott concert. Fortnite hosted another concert that took place on the main stage of the Fortnite Party Royale last night and featured DJ Diplo performing as the leader of the Major Lazer trio.

The concert lasted approximately 20 minutes and was the first major event to take place in Party Royale mode. That mode was only discovered a few days ago by data miners doing what they do best. That uncovered information also suggests that Party Royale will have an entirely new map and various games that players can participate in without worrying about being shot. Most future in-game concerts are supposed to take place in Party Royale mode.

The main stage is located on the east side of Party Royale Island. Many Fortnite fans and DJ Diplo probably didn’t know that the event was taking place. That would be because it wasn’t advertised, and the first time anyone found out was 30 minutes before it started via Tweet. The good news is that fans can watch the YouTube video above to see the concert.

It is quite surprising that this concert has not been heavily promoted considering how popular musical events have been in Fortnite. As it was relatively discreet, we did not expect numbers of participants like the one that had the Travis Scott concert. DJ Diplo’s concert doesn’t seem to have had any challenges either. We recently showed players where to go dancing to complete one of Travis Scott’s astronomical challenges.
