Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt has opened the door to a possible partnership with Steven Gerrard on the Anfield bench.
Gerrard has deservedly earned his applause this season for leading Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title.
But their triumph also drew attention, as it eliminated Celtic’s iron grip on the trophy. As such, many experts have singled out Gerrard as the man who will triumph. Jurgen Klopp in 2024.
However, his former teammate Kuyt has jumped into the debate, insisting that he would not turn down the opportunity to work with Gerrard if the opportunity arose.
“Stevie was the best of all,” said the Dutchman to Daily mirror. “For the simple reason that he was the most complete footballer I have ever worked with.
“He could do it all. Score goals, defend and pass the ball over 50 meters.
“He was a superstar in every aspect of the game. And that’s even before you mention his incredible discipline and passion for the game.
“I have the desire to be a coach soon and I am looking for options. But there are exceptions to choosing a path as assistant principal and being with Stevie would be one of them.
“If he wanted me to be his assistant, I would very much like it. In principle, I see myself working as a head coach, but, as I say, there are always exceptions ”.
Kuyt recently ended his association with Feyenoord, where he dedicated himself as a junior coach.
However, the 40-year-old is now close to completing his coach badges after completing his UEFA professional licensing exams.
But while unsure of his own path as a manager, Kuyt can see Gerrard the management of Liverpool.

“The most beautiful moment I can see is when Steven gets the job and can officially call himself a manager of LiverpoolKuyt said.
“And it would do a great job. As he has done in the Rangers, he will have a process, gradually doing things step by step.
“I look forward to seeing him develop as a manager and seeing him work closely for many years.
“That could be in the role of an opposition manager, but it could also be as a colleague.”
