Food court at Changi Airport, various shopping malls visited by COVID-19 cases during infectious period

SINGAPORE: A food court at Changi Airport and seven shopping centers are among the locations added on Tuesday (September 29) to the list of public places visited by community cases of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

The Orchis food court at Changi Airport Terminal 1 was visited six times between September 16 and 25, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its evening update.

The seven malls added to the list are Anchorpoint, Bugis +, Bugis Junction, IMM, Ngee Ann City, Queensway Shopping Center, and Tiong Bahru Plaza.

Alexandra Village Food Center also appeared on the list in four cases, as well as three food establishments along Stirling Road: Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, Napshot Cafe, and Stirling Food Court.

Those who have been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases have already been notified by the Ministry of Health.

As a precautionary measure, people who were in those places during the specified hours should monitor their health closely for 14 days from the date of the visit, the Health Ministry said.

They should see a doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection, such as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their history of exposure.

The health ministry said people can access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service through the TraceTogether app, SingPass Mobile or on the SafeEntry website to check if they were at these locations during specified times, based on their own SafeEntry records. .

“It is not necessary to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded. The National Environment Agency will contract with the management of the affected facilities to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection,” the Ministry of Health said.

Singapore reported 27 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including one in the community and nine imported cases.
