SINGAPORE – Road Electronic Pricing (ERP) rates on six gantries on the Central Highway (CTE) will be increased by $ 1 as of Monday (October 12) following a review by the Land Transportation Authority (LTA). ).
LTA said that based on its monitoring of traffic conditions in September, traffic speeds have remained optimal on all major highways and most expressways, except for a few periods of time at the CTE.
“As more people commute to and from their workplaces, the volume of traffic has continued to increase during weekday rush hours. This has caused localized congestion at specific locations along the CTE during peak periods. “
The rate increase will apply to a set of four porches on southbound CTE after Braddell Road & PIE access road to southbound CTE between 8.30 am and 9 am, and between 9 am and 9.30 am where the rate will increase from $ 0 to $ 1, and a set of two gantries on CTE northbound after PIE between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm, where the rate will increase from $ 2 to $ 3.
There will be no ERP charges on other highways and arterial roads and LTA said it will continue to monitor traffic conditions and assess whether ERP rates need to be adjusted further.
