More than a week after a stranger’s dog bite brought her to the hospital, a woman is asking the owner to stop cheating on her.
The victim, a 66-year-old retiree, was walking home after a morning swim on September 25 when she was bitten by the dog near Block 501 at 8 Ang Mo Kio Avenue, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

As he passed the dog, which appeared to be a gray schnauzer, it suddenly attacked and bit his right arm.

The dog’s owner, a woman who appeared to be in her 30s, called an ambulance for her, but subsequently “disappeared into thin air,” he said.
Since then, the dog’s owner has been ignoring his calls and messages, he said, hoping the owner can “step up and take responsibility” for the incident.
Eager to go home instead of being protected in a hospital, she decided to visit a nearby clinic.
Eventually, he ended up visiting a hospital on the advice of the clinic’s GP.
She was protected for one night at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and ended up receiving seven stitches and a cast for her fractured right arm, she said.
His medical bills, which amounted to more than $ 2,000, were covered by subsidies and MediSave, but he expressed concern about incurring additional costs as he might need surgery on his arm.
He has even resorted to filing a police report on the matter, he shared.
However, cost is not your only concern. According to the woman, her husband had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in July and has only about four months to live.
She is his main caregiver, but with his injured right arm, he has had to rely on the help of his friends to prepare food for him, he said.
“I tried to use my left hand to cook pumpkin and pork porridge for him and I’m trying my best to use my left hand when taking care of him. What else can I do?”

Under the Miscellaneous Offenses (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, dog owners can be fined up to $ 5,000 if their dog injures another person.
They may also have to pay up to $ 2,000 in compensation to the victim, with the amount of compensation determined by the Magistrates Court.
