Customers who were seen interspersed between six different tables at the Peach Garden Chinese restaurant at the Miramar Hotel had made separate reservations, a spokesperson told Stomp.

He shared a video of the incident with Stomp.
“I am concerned about the lack of safe distancing here,” Pierre said.
“It seems like six tables were celebrating and some people at the tables kept visiting other tables without their masks.
“If I’m not mistaken, each table should be limited to five people.
“But these people came in a big group and they were running to take pictures and chat.
“It was uncomfortable watching them mingle between the tables.”
In response to a query from Stomp, a Peach Garden Group spokesperson said: “Based on our investigations, the groups of customers seated at the tables in the video made separate reservations under different names for each reservation, with no more than five people per reservation. / table. “
According to the spokesperson, the restaurant was unaware that the customers knew each other and had split into several reservations.
The spokesperson added: “Later, when our staff saw a guest from one table approach and stand next to another table, they detained him and informed him that mixing tables between tables is not allowed.
“Our restaurants have always adhered to the measures required by the government; SafeEntry, temperature measurement, maximum five pax per table, do not mix customers from different tables, at least 1m of distance between tables, masks to take at all times eat, etc.
“Most of our restaurants have been inspected by Safe Management Officers and so far there have been no problems.
“Please be assured that we take safe management measures seriously and that we have implemented all measures ordered by the government.”
The Peach Garden Group has also informed all staff of the seriousness of the matter and reminded them to ensure that the measures are followed.
“They have also been told to be more vigilant and make sure there is always someone monitoring the ground to avoid any contravention,” the spokesman said.
