SINGAPORE: COVID-19 testing will be offered to workers at key delivery centers and key logistics delivery companies in the coming weeks, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said on Thursday (November 26).

The Ministry of Health also announced that as of 11:59 p.m. From Saturday, travelers who have a travel history in the last 14 days to Finland and Turkey must deliver their notice of stay at home at specialized facilities.

COVID-19 testing offered to workers at key delivery centers, such as the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Center, and key logistics delivery companies are part of efforts to “provide a better picture of the prevalence of the population. and facilitate early containment of cryptic cases in the community. ” MOH said.

The ministry announced Wednesday that it would offer COVID-19 testing to traders in and around Tekka Center this week, with operations near the Little India MRT station.

“The results of community testing operations indicate very low prevalence rates in the community and it is an indicator that our safe handling measures are helping to keep our community safe,” the Ministry of Health said.

It will be “reaching out to other identified community groups” to offer one-time testing.

The Health Ministry “vigorously” encouraged people from these identified community groups to use the testing services offered, adding that the costs for these tests will be borne by the Government.

STRICTER BORDER MEASURES FOR TRAVELERS FROM FINLAND, TURKEY

Travelers from Fiji, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Thailand can still request to opt out of the dedicated facilities and deliver their 14-day home stay notice to their place of residence, if they meet the following criteria:

– did not travel to any other country / region than the aforementioned countries, as well as Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macao, mainland China, New Zealand, Taiwan and Vietnam, in the last 14 consecutive days prior to entry; Y

– live alone or with household members who are also serving a stay-at-home notice with the same travel history and length of notice

“We will continue to review and calibrate our border measures to allow a safe reopening of our borders, while facilitating the resumption of key economic activities that are critical to livelihoods,” the Health Ministry said.

“Testing remains a key factor for a safe reopening and we will continue to progressively expand surveillance testing to more community groups in Singapore.”
