SINGAPORE – A couple will be charged on Thursday (November 12) with the alleged murder of the woman’s 11-year-old daughter.
Both the man and the woman are 26 years old and the woman is the biological mother of the girl, while the man is the stepfather, Singapore Police said in a press release on Wednesday.
Police were alerted to the unnatural death of the girl on Tuesday around 1.20 pm The girl was taken unconscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital by ambulance around 11 am on Tuesday and was pronounced dead at 12:40 pm
Police arrested the couple believed to have been involved in the death. Both are expected to be charged with the crime of homicide with common intent.
A person convicted of murder faces the death penalty.
