Liverpool fans have reacted after drawing against RB Leipzig in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
The Reds will face the Bundesliga team next year after the Germans helped eliminate Manchester United in the group stage.
Leipzig reached the semi-final of the Champions League last season before being defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool, by contrast, were eliminated in the first knockout round by Atlético de Madrid and hope to go further this season after reaching the final in 2018 and 2019.
Having led their group in relatively comfortable style, Liverpool’s worst draw arguably would have been facing Atlético again or Barcelona, who finished runners-up in their group.
While some fans were hoping to attract Porto or Borussia Monchengladbach, the overall response from Liverpool’s field is positive before facing Leipzig:
The first leg of the round of 16 matches will be played on February 16/17 or February 23/24, 2021, and the return matches will take place on March 9/10 or March 16/17.
Liverpool will face Leicester City in the Premier League on February 13, with Everton at home on February 20 and Sheffield United away on 27.
