A rainy Saturday brought sadness to residents of a condo on Marine Parade, until a sweet gesture from a neighbor drove away the sadness.

Stomper north, a resident of The Seaview condo along Amber Road, was surprised to be greeted with a bouquet of flowers on her doorstep on Saturday (November 7).

N recounted: “It was around 12 at night and it was raining heavily.

“We opened our front door to pick up a package and were pleasantly surprised to find a bouquet of flowers right outside our door on this dull and rainy day.

“A neighbor from an adjacent unit, whom we had never met, had been thoughtful enough to purchase a bouquet of beautiful flowers and leave them outside our unit, with a message saying they hoped it would brighten our gloomy day.

“In fact, he did and we were moved by this poignant gesture.”

The photos N shared with Stomp show how a note accompanying the flowers wished the recipient a happy Saturday and was signed by ‘Claire’.

According to N, there was no special occasion that prompted the kind gesture and her family had no interaction with Claire prior to this.

N said their other neighbors also had similar bouquets waiting for them outside the units.

She told Stomp, “We returned the beautiful act of kindness by leaving a box of chocolates outside Claire’s door.

“It was amazing to receive a gift from someone we had never met who was kind enough to go to the store on a rainy morning to buy flowers for their neighbors.

“May this kampong spirit never die.”
