ComfortDelGro takes ‘severe disciplinary measures’ against taxi driver who collided with motorcyclist in Bedok

ComfortDelGro has taken severe disciplinary action against a taxi driver who collided with a motorcyclist at the intersection of Bedok North Road and Bedok North Avenue 1.

The accident, which occurred on Saturday (October 3), involved five vehicles.

Two motorcyclists and a taxi passenger were taken to the hospital.

Stomper Rohaizat informed Stomp of the accident and posted a circulating video taken from an in-car camera.

In the video, a taxi can be seen making a discretionary right turn when it collided with a motorcycle.

The video timestamp shows that this happened at 10:25 PM.

In response to an inquiry from Stomp, Ms Tammy Tan, Group Corporate Communications Director for ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, said: “We have been in contact with motorcyclists and their families, as well as passengers aboard our taxi since the accident and we are assisting them as best we can.

“This dangerous driving is not allowed and we have made it clear to the taxi driver that this will not be tolerated.”

“We have taken severe disciplinary action against him and we will be monitoring his performance.”

Police also said in a statement that they were alerted to the accident at 10:27 p.m.

“Two male motorcyclists, aged 19 and 22, and a 31-year-old taxi passenger were conscious when they were transferred to Changi General Hospital,” said a police spokesman.

Police investigations are ongoing.
