SINGAPORE – The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) seized drugs worth around $ 410,000 in a series of drug raids on Monday (November 16) and Tuesday, during which five Singaporeans were arrested.

The drugs include more than 1 kg of methamphetamine, also known as Ice, which CNB says is enough to fuel the addiction of about 750 users for a week.

CNB officers also recovered $ 18,250 worth of offensive weapons and cash.

A 34-year-old Singaporean man, a suspected drug trafficker, was arrested on Somme Road in Jalan Besar on Monday. Three packs containing approximately 37 g of ice and 11 ecstasy tablets were recovered from him.

Officers then searched his hiding place, which was nearby, and seized 1,276 g of ice, 342 g of cannabis, 46 g of ketamine, 161 tablets and fragments of ecstasy, 18 tablets of Erimin-5, six stamps of LSD, a hallucinogen. done on blotting paper tabs. – and a bottle of liquid suspected of containing gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), which is a psychoactive substance.

Various drug paraphernalia and cash worth $ 14,000 were also recovered.

On the same day, CNB agents also arrested a 25-year-old man and two women, 19 and 24, near a hotel in the Balestier Road area.

CNB said the man fought violently to resist arrest and used the necessary force to subdue him.

A package containing approximately 1 g of ice, a bottle of liquid suspected of containing GHB, and a karambit knife, which is shaped like a claw, were recovered from the 25-year-old man.

A search of his vehicle found two watermelon knives, a parang, and a baseball bat, along with various drug paraphernalia.

In a follow-up operation Tuesday, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the Yishun Ring Road area and arrested another 25-year-old Singaporean man.

One Erimin-5 tablet and 20 yaba tablets, also known as methamphetamine, were recovered from the unit.

When officers searched the man’s vehicle, they found 10 ecstasy tablets and cash worth $ 4,250.

Investigations into the drug-related activities of all the suspects are ongoing.
