Thanks to her cat’s hunting instincts, a woman ended up with not one but two hamsters that were caught somewhere and dropped at her home in Chai Chee.
The woman is now looking for someone in her area who might have lost two hamsters , said to be the winter white dwarf variety , who are alive and well, and probably confused as heck.
According to their Facebook post, the two creatures weren’t even caught on the same day. Your cat apparently brought home one hamster on Sunday (October 11) and the other the next day.
“If anyone misses this hamster in the Chai Chee area, please contact me,” she wrote, encouraging people to share her post to reach more people.
In the comment section, the woman clarified that the hamsters did not appear to be injured upon arrival.
As some cat owners may have experienced firsthand, their pets, inherently natural predators, tend to leave a kind of gift for their owners as a “prey retrieval” instinct. Thus were the dead lizards and the decapitated mice in shoes and mats.
There is also a belief that cats might think that their owners are inferior bad hunters who cannot support themselves, and the gift they bring home could be their way of providing them. Or it could just be the way the cat shows what it found.
In any case, the woman is looking for anyone who will take the hamsters out of her hands, whether they are their rightful owners or would-be adopters. With over 1,200 shares on your Facebook post, help could be coming soon.
