Singapore – A red delivery truck has been caught on camera speeding through a yellow box when the red light turns green, dislodging the bumper of a red car coming from the opposite direction.
On Saturday (September 25), the Facebook page ROADS.sg uploaded dashcam images from the accident on September 21 along Yio Chu Kang Road towards the Central Expressway (CTE).
“The red truck went around through the yellow box, and the red car rolled forward only to have the front bumper ripped off,” the caption read. “The yellow box with several lanes needs a lot of attention,” the publication added.
The footage begins with the car stopping at a red light at the junction. The vehicle has two trucks in the two lanes to its right. When the traffic light turns green, the red truck can be seen making a quick turn, causing the two trucks to give way.

The driver’s view of the car may have been blocked by the two trucks on the right. As the red truck accelerates through the yellow box, it is hit by the red car and its front bumper comes off.
The video was posted as evidence for the parties to claim the insurance, ROADS.sg said.
Many people online blamed the car driver for the accident. They felt that the person should have ensured that there was a clear and safe path in blind spots.
Others felt that the driver of the red truck was speeding through the yellow box to get past the red light.
Meanwhile, members of the online community urged all motorists to be very careful when entering the yellow box at a junction as there are blind spots.
