A car crashed into a truck at the junction of Punggol Field and Punggol East after making a discretionary right turn despite being in a lane intended only to go straight ahead.

Stomper Victor He said the accident, which occurred on Sunday (December 13) at 9:50 p.m., involved his father, who was driving the truck at the time.

“The car camera images were taken from a stranger who was there during the accident,” Victor said.

“My father asked him for the video so he could see what really happened.

“When I saw the video, I was shocked. The car actually turned right, despite being in a lane destined for cars going straight. So my father definitely had the right of way.

“My father told me that after the collision, he got out of his truck to check the damage. I’m glad he wasn’t hurt.

“The driver of the car also got out of his car and said he was not injured.”

Víctor shared that his friend’s brother remains close and managed to record videos of the aftermath of the accident from his unit.

“According to my dad, there was an oil spill on the road due to the accident and my friend’s brother managed to capture images of the Singapore Civil Defense (SCDF) officers cleaning up the oil,” added Victor.

“I honestly feel that the driver of the car should not have driven so dangerously. An accident happened because he wanted to save a few seconds.

“I’m thankful that there was about 300kg of cargo on my father’s truck, because if the truck was empty, it could have tipped over.

“The truck was really badly damaged. But in the end, I’m happy that my father is fine.”
