The 2,000 fans who were able to return to Anfield for the first time since March enjoyed a consummate collective display that featured goals from Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip before Nelson Semedo’s own goal.

“It was first class,” Kelleher told Liverpoolfc.com.

“From the first minute we were really on fire tonight and we played very well. We scored four goals [and] maybe it could have had a few more too. It was a great team performance in all aspects. “

Goalkeeper Kelleher marked his Premier League debut with another assured start and a clean sheet following an impressive European bow to AFC Ajax midweek.

“That’s what I’m there for!” the 22-year-old said of his saves against the Wolves.

“I’m just trying to be there for the team to help them in those moments and luckily I was able to make those saves again and get a clean sheet.

“Getting a clean sheet, for me and the four behind, is the most important thing for us. So we did our job. ”

Kelleher was also delighted to have the backing of fans returning from the Kop.

He continued: “It was obviously amazing. It’s been so long without them that it felt a bit strange to see them, but it was an incredible feeling to have them back in the stadium.

“The support they give, honestly, is of another kind. You saw today how we perform when they’re there, so having them back today was a huge bonus. “
