Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick, while Thomas Muller, Leon Goretzka, Robert Lewandowski, Jamal Musiala and new signing Leroy Sane were also added to the score sheet.
Gnabry scored his first goal of the game after just four minutes when he landed with a fly ball forward before unleashing a fierce effort driven into the top corner.
Goretzka doubled in the 19th minute and Lewandowski scored a penalty in the half hour to give Bayern a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The hosts started the second half in similar fashion to the first with Gnabry scoring early on. Just before time, the winger secured the ball with a third.
Lewandowski’s scandalous Rabona assist helped Muller make six with Sane scoring a goal himself after catching Joshua Kimmich’s pass a minute later.
In the final ten minutes, the young Musiala scored the eighth, but Bayern could have done more before the final whistle.
The result will continue to put pressure on David Wagner, whose Schalke side failed to win any of their last 16 Bundesliga games last season.
