We all love different parts of Singapore for different reasons, and we have our own ideas on which neighborhoods are the coolest, but an international survey has decided that Bugis is now the coolest neighborhood in Singapore.

According to the annual Time Out Index survey for 2020, Bugis in Singapore was nominated as the 29th coolest neighborhood in the world. More than 38,000 participated and ranked various neighborhoods around the world on a top 40 list, with Barcelona’s Esquerra de l’Eixample at number one.

So what makes Bugis the coolest neighborhood on our island? The Time Out team listed places like Good Luck Beer House, Gelam Gallery and Atlas, while praising the district’s “kampung spirit”. As for some of the coolest people in Singapore, they agree that Bugis has a lot to love, and they even agree that Atlas is one of the top spots.
