MOSTAR, Bosnia: A Bosnian fan of Elon Musk’s Ford trucks and Tesla couldn’t sit back waiting for the electric carmaker to launch its Cybertruck, which is expected in late 2021. Instead, he came up with his own. Futuristic vehicle version.

It took eight months for IT specialists and engineers at Igor Krezic’s Stark Solutions company to tear a rugged Ford Raptor F-150 down into its smallest parts and then transform it into a gas-powered vehicle that resembles a Cybertruck.

The first tour of the streets of the southern city of Mostar attracted a lot of attention, Mario Coric, a manager of the company, told Reuters.

“Everybody was looking and half of them thought we made a tank, because people don’t know what the Cybertruck is. One girl even stopped and asked if this is where they are producing the Tesla Cybertruck,” Coric said. Friday.

Krezic declined to speak to Reuters.

Although it may not look identical to the functional Cybertruck prototype, the truck captures its spirit.

“The owner wanted us to combine two opposing sides, Ford and Cyber, because he’s a Tesla and Ford fan, so we merged two souls into one,” he said.

“This one uses gasoline and Tesla uses electricity. We try to copy as much as possible, but our car is not the same size as the Cybertruck,” Coric added.

There were no immediate comments from Tesla and Ford.

Coric said that Stark Solutions was now trying to register the truck so it could drive it on roads, but they were having trouble because sharp edges on vehicles like those seen on the Cybertruck are banned in Bosnia.

Tesla plans to build its $ 1.1 billion Cybertruck factory near Austin, Texas, ending intense competition with neighboring Oklahoma, the automaker’s chief executive, Musk, announced in July.

With a starting price of $ 39,000, the Cybertruck resembles an armored car and targets the heart of Detroit automakers’ profitable trucking business.
