Arteta furious after raid on Arsenal training ground leaked to media

REUTERS: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may have improved the club’s defense to concede fewer goals, but is now tasked with plugging a leak at his club after the media reported vivid details about a clash between teammates in training.

British media reports said defender David Luiz and midfielder Dani Ceballos had clashed in a training session following a late challenge earlier this week, with Luiz drawing blood after striking Ceballos in the face.

While Ceballos took to Twitter to say the story was “false,” Arteta said the incident had been resolved but that the Spanish chief’s biggest concern was how the story leaked.

“I don’t like the fact that that incident comes to light,” Arteta told reporters ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game at Leeds United.

“I’ll find out where it comes from and if that’s the case, that goes completely against what I expect from each other, the privacy and confidentiality that we need. There will be consequences.

“It’s a contact sport … The training is very competitive and problems happen most of the time.”

Ceballos, who is on loan from Real Madrid for a second season, has been involved in an altercation with a teammate before when he faced Eddie Nketiah during a warm-up session before a game against Fulham in September.

However, the two reconciled and were all smiles when Ceballos posted a picture with the 21-year-old forward after the game with the caption: “No problems here brother.”
