Everton midfielder Allan has recalled his solid record against Liverpool for former club Napoli ahead of their possible first Merseyside Derby on Saturday.
The arrival of the Brazilian this summer has been part of a new look for Toffees that has had a spectacular start to the season with Carlo Ancelotti and is at the top of the Premier League.
This form means that there is an argument that the blue side of the city will enter Saturday’s derby as the favorite after champions Liverpool suffered a surprising 7-2 loss to Aston Villa last time out.

The Brazilian has been part of two wins and a draw in recent years against the Reds
The midfielder was named the best player on the pitch when Napoli drew 1-1 against Anfield last season, while also starting in 2-0 and 1-0 victories over the Reds for the Serie A side.
‘Professor Ancelotti and his coaching staff are very intelligent and prepare for every detail to face the opposition. Through that we came out on top most of the time against Liverpool, ” Allan told the Liverpool Echo.
“ Every game against Liverpool is tough, but thank God we got through it most of the time and hopefully Saturday will be no different.
‘We are playing at home and hopefully we will have a great game and get a victory that will be very important for us.

Saturday’s game at Goodison Park will mark 10 years since Everton beat their rivals on a miserable streak, and Allan revealed that they are aware of the drought despite their good form.
‘Yes, obviously, we are aware [of Everton’s derby drought] and it’s not a good album, it’s not a good thing and we’ve heard it.
Allan revealed that his nickname ‘Professor’ for his boss comes from, also used by fellow recruit James Rodriguez for the way the Italian studies and prepares for the games and the relationship he has with the players.
