Chen, who plans to attend the funeral, told The Straits Times by phone: “He always said that Singapore has been very kind to him and gave him many opportunities. He was well liked here.”
Huang will also be the star of Fat Hope, an upcoming film directed by Encore Films founder Joyce Lee.

“He is a hard worker, he prepares well for his work and takes care of the people around him. He was a cheerful person who brought a lot of joy on set,” he says.
The film, which was filmed in 2018, is scheduled to premiere next Chinese New Year.
Behind the scenes, he was a star without airs.
Ms. Lim Ai Lian, 33, who was previously an assistant promotions manager at Huang’s agency and Rock Records music label, used to manage his schedule when he was in Singapore.

After graduating from Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School, the alma mater of many Taiwanese celebrities such as singers Cyndi Wang, Tarcy Su, and presenter Dee Hsu, Huang entered the entertainment industry at a young age.
His high school sweetheart was singer Rainie Yang, with whom he remained friends long after their teenage breakup.
In a heartfelt tribute, Yang wrote on Instagram: “I’m not going to pretend that I’m fine and fine because I am by no means okay.
“I think you will still be in my future, in a different way. Thank you for appearing in my life and I am so glad that we showed our love and concern for each other in the right way.”

She wrote: “Two weeks ago, you told me, ‘Let’s not get married.’ I asked him why. She said, “If something happens to me in the future then you won’t have to carry that burden. You will have a clean slate to marry someone else. But I just love you. “
