Local singer JJ Lin, actor Andie Chen, and TV host Lee Teng were among the more than 140 celebrities who attended Taiwanese artist Alien Huang’s three-day wake, which ended on Monday (September 21).

Lin went to the wake on Monday morning with his friend, former Da Mouth singer Harry Chang. They stayed about 10 minutes before leaving.

Lin told the media that he unfortunately did not get a chance to work with Huang on music. Lin’s agency said the two had been in talks about a collaboration between Huang’s urban clothing brand AES and Lin’s lifestyle brand SMG.

Both Lee and Chen, who co-starred with Huang in the Mediacorp drama Joys Of Life (2012), went to the wake on Sunday. Chen, who is in Taiwan for work, told The Straits Times last week that he failed to meet with Huang while he was serving his quarantine.

Huang, 36, was found dead in his home last Wednesday. An autopsy concluded that he died of an aortic dissection, which had caused a blockage of his blood vessels.

An aortic dissection is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the inner layer of the aorta, the large blood vessel that branches off from the heart, tears.

Other celebrities who attended the wake were singer Richie Jen, actor Chen Bo-lin, TV host Mickey Huang, his wife, actress Summer Meng, singer Jam Hsiao, Mayday Monster frontman, and singer Cyndi Wang.

Huang’s girlfriend, cheerleader Wu Han-chun, whom he had been secretly dating for the past and a half years, was there for the three days. Her good friend, actress Ann Hsu, was also there during the wake.

His ex-girlfriend, singer Rainie Yang, came for the second time on Monday.

Taiwanese media estimated that more than 4,500 fans attended Huang’s wake.

Huang’s manager Dino told the media that his musical tribute is scheduled for October 6. His label will announce the details later this week.
